5'-Nucleotidase activity in cultured rat leptomeninges. 1987

By means of a cytochemical procedure, 5'-nucleotidase activity was demonstrated in rat leptomeninges explanted to in vitro conditions. In organotypic type of culture, the enzyme activity was present on the membranes of cell bodies and their processes. High enzymatic activity was due to the cell-to-cell contact and also to pinocytosis and enhanced metabolism of nucleotides in meningeal cells in vitro.
