[The posture of the dentist]. 1979

K Buth, and G Klinke

Using the multi-moment recording technique, the authors examined in 23 dentists from territorial health services the frequency of certain postures and attitudes during working time as related to working procedure. It was stated that in case of the conventional standing dentistry the dentists assume a forced attitude in 37.7% of working time. On contrast, the values found for dentists practising almost exclusively sit-down dentistry were considerably more favourable (4.2% of working time). The results are discussed, and relevant conclusions are drawn.
