Argyrophil and argentaffin APUD cells in the human female prostate homologue and urethra. 1986

M Zaviacic

In the female prostate homologue and urethra, numerous argyrophil and rare argentaffin cells were found. Grimelius method displayed the closed and open types of argyrophil cells in all cases this study. The findings indicate the possibility of endo/para/crine activity of the female prostate homologue and urethra and support the opinion on the non-vestigial role of the prostate homologue in woman.
