Adenosine deaminase activity during the growth cycle of T and B lymphoid cell lines. 1977

G L Tritsch, and J Minowada

Adenosine deaminase activity per cell was constant during the growth of B cells but increased during logarithmic growth of T cells and decreased as T cell viability decreased during the stationary phase of growth. This elevated enzyme activity appears to be a biochemical marker for T cell leukemic blasts.

D009700 Nucleoside Deaminases Catalyze the hydrolysis of nucleosides with the elimination of ammonia. Deaminases, Nucleoside
D002453 Cell Cycle The complex series of phenomena, occurring between the end of one CELL DIVISION and the end of the next, by which cellular material is duplicated and then divided between two daughter cells. The cell cycle includes INTERPHASE, which includes G0 PHASE; G1 PHASE; S PHASE; and G2 PHASE, and CELL DIVISION PHASE. D000243 Adenosine Deaminase An enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of ADENOSINE to INOSINE with the elimination of AMMONIA. Adenosine Aminohydrolase,Aminohydrolase, Adenosine,Deaminase, Adenosine
D001402 B-Lymphocytes Lymphoid cells concerned with humoral immunity. They are short-lived cells resembling bursa-derived lymphocytes of birds in their production of immunoglobulin upon appropriate stimulation. D013601 T-Lymphocytes Lymphocytes responsible for cell-mediated immunity. Two types have been identified - cytotoxic (T-LYMPHOCYTES, CYTOTOXIC) and helper T-lymphocytes (T-LYMPHOCYTES, HELPER-INDUCER). They are formed when lymphocytes circulate through the THYMUS GLAND and differentiate to thymocytes. When exposed to an antigen, they divide rapidly and produce large numbers of new T cells sensitized to that antigen.
