Department of Pathology, University of Maryland School of Medicine, Baltimore.

The diagnosis of SIDS depends on an analysis of information derived from two primary sources: the scene investigation and the autopsy examination. This paper identifies those details that an observer should look for and consider in completing a report of the circumstances of the death.
