Ventriculography with metrizamide (Amipaque) was performed in 150 patients. Side effects were mild and no severe reactions were observed. The low toxicity and the low epileptogenic activity of this contrast medium make positive contrast ventriculography a safe neuroradiologic procedure.

UI MeSH Term Description Entries
D008793 Metrizamide A solute for density gradient centrifugation offering higher maximum solution density without the problems of increased viscosity. It is also used as a resorbable, non-ionic contrast medium. Amipak,Amipaque
D006801 Humans Members of the species Homo sapiens. Homo sapiens,Man (Taxonomy),Human,Man, Modern,Modern Man
D014695 Cerebral Ventriculography Radiography of the ventricular system of the brain after injection of air or other contrast medium directly into the cerebral ventricles. It is used also for x-ray computed tomography of the cerebral ventricles. Ventriculography, Cerebral,Cerebral Ventriculographies,Ventriculographies, Cerebral
