Subtraction technique in intravenous aortography. 1977

W J Mikkelsen, and G Y Yim, and V Bandrevics, and D R James

Excretory urography using the subtraction technique (100 ml of 60% urographic media injected in 10-12 seconds) demonstrated the aorta and its major branches well enough to prove useful clinically. The method is fast and graphic, and risk seems no greater than that associated with the standard urographic examination.

D007275 Injections, Intravenous Injections made into a vein for therapeutic or experimental purposes. Intravenous Injections,Injection, Intravenous,Intravenous Injection
D012078 Renal Artery Obstruction Narrowing or occlusion of the RENAL ARTERY or arteries. It is due usually to ATHEROSCLEROSIS; FIBROMUSCULAR DYSPLASIA; THROMBOSIS; EMBOLISM, or external pressure. The reduced renal perfusion can lead to renovascular hypertension (HYPERTENSION, RENOVASCULAR). D001027 Aortography Radiographic visualization of the aorta and its branches by injection of contrast media, using percutaneous puncture or catheterization procedures. Aortographies
D013382 Subtraction Technique Combination or superimposition of two images for demonstrating differences between them (e.g., radiograph with contrast vs. one without, radionuclide images using different radionuclides, radiograph vs. radionuclide image) and in the preparation of audiovisual materials (e.g., offsetting identical images, coloring of vessels in angiograms).
