Cloprostenol, a synthetic derivative of prostaglandin F2 alpha, exhibits antiarrhythmic properties against reperfusion induced fibrillation in guinea-pig hearts in vitro. It decreases the incidence of fibrillation from 75.0% to 0%. This antifibrillatory effect of cloprostenol could be confirmed also by in vivo experiments.
