Pathologic myopia is a relatively common blinding condition for which current treatment is limited and controversial. Macular changes and vision loss proceed from the development of a posterior staphyloma. A scleral reinforcement technique has been used in seven eyes of six patients. The procedure is technically uncomplicated and safe.
