1. Mefloquine, a phospholipid interacting antimalarial drug, inhibits Ca2+ stimulated phospholipid dependent protein kinase from rat spleen by interfering with the activation process. 2. The type of inhibition was found to be competitive with respect to phosphatidylserine; the apparent Ki-value was determined to be 60 microM.
