[Characteristics of post-traumatic differentiation of satellite cells in skeletal muscles]. 1988

A V Volodina, and O M Pozdniakov

Muscle trauma during preliminary denervation stimulates generation and differentiation of satellite cells. There are two types of posttraumatic cells with different types of albumin synthesis (intracellular and extracellular) under the sarcolemma of the muscle fibers. It is assumed that either two different types of cells differentiating along myogenic and fibrogenic lines are to be found under muscle sarcolemma, or the original satellite cell is capable of differentiating in several directions.

UI MeSH Term Description Entries
D008297 Male Males
D009132 Muscles Contractile tissue that produces movement in animals. Muscle Tissue,Muscle,Muscle Tissues,Tissue, Muscle,Tissues, Muscle
D011132 Polyribosomes A multiribosomal structure representing a linear array of RIBOSOMES held together by messenger RNA; (RNA, MESSENGER); They represent the active complexes in cellular protein synthesis and are able to incorporate amino acids into polypeptides both in vivo and in vitro. (From Rieger et al., Glossary of Genetics: Classical and Molecular, 5th ed) Polysomes,Polyribosome,Polysome
D002454 Cell Differentiation Progressive restriction of the developmental potential and increasing specialization of function that leads to the formation of specialized cells, tissues, and organs. Differentiation, Cell,Cell Differentiations,Differentiations, Cell
D003593 Cytoplasm The part of a cell that contains the CYTOSOL and small structures excluding the CELL NUCLEUS; MITOCHONDRIA; and large VACUOLES. (Glick, Glossary of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, 1990) Protoplasm,Cytoplasms,Protoplasms
D000418 Albumins Water-soluble proteins found in egg whites, blood, lymph, and other tissues and fluids. They coagulate upon heating. Albumin
D000818 Animals Unicellular or multicellular, heterotrophic organisms, that have sensation and the power of voluntary movement. Under the older five kingdom paradigm, Animalia was one of the kingdoms. Under the modern three domain model, Animalia represents one of the many groups in the domain EUKARYOTA. Animal,Metazoa,Animalia
D012270 Ribosomes Multicomponent ribonucleoprotein structures found in the CYTOPLASM of all cells, and in MITOCHONDRIA, and PLASTIDS. They function in PROTEIN BIOSYNTHESIS via GENETIC TRANSLATION. Ribosome
D012508 Sarcolemma The excitable plasma membrane of a muscle cell. (Glick, Glossary of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, 1990) Sarcolemmas
