Descemet Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty for Corneal Edema and Visually Significant Descemet Membrane Scrolls Due to Syphilitic Keratitis. 2022

The presence of Descemet membrane scrolls is an uncommon finding reported in syphilitic interstitial keratitis. We herein describe a novel surgical strategy for this entity; this report demonstrates that Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty surgery can be performed with excellent visual outcomes in the event of corneal edema as a late sequela of syphilitic keratitis.
