[Results of the surgical treatment of arteriosclerotic occlusions of the abdominal aorta and peripheral arteries of the extremities in patients with diabetes mellitus]. 1987

Results of the surgical treatment of 126 patients with obliterating atherosclerosis of the abdominal aorta and peripheral arteries of extremities against the background of diabetes mellitus are described. The immediate results were followed in all the patients. They were good in 52 patients, satisfactory in 61 patients, unsatisfactory in 13 patients. Six patients died (4.5%). Long-term results (from 6 months to 10 years) were followed in 97 patients. They were good in 26.8% of the patients, satisfactory in 55.7% and unsatisfactory in 17.5% of the patients. Lethal outcomes took place in 7 patients (7.2%). 43.3% of the 97 patients returned to their previous work.
