Pop-off system for the high flow IMV reservoir bag. 1986

Y Stelzer, and A Perel, and Y Shapira, and S Cotev

A pop-off valve system for use with intermittent mandatory ventilation that employs high flow and a reservoir bag is described. It ensures constancy of the mechanical tidal volume regardless of the flow rate of fresh gases into the reservoir bag of the spontaneous breathing circuit.

D011175 Positive-Pressure Respiration A method of mechanical ventilation in which pressure is maintained to increase the volume of gas remaining in the lungs at the end of expiration, thus reducing the shunting of blood through the lungs and improving gas exchange.
