[A simple dispenser for liquid olfactometry]. 1987

A Ia Kaplan

A simple mechanical device for the dosage delivery of the chemical substance solutions to the animal chemoreceptors is suggested. This device is making chemical stimuli with abrupt fronts by means of stream switching of the control and test solutions.

UI MeSH Term Description Entries
D010827 Physiology The biological science concerned with the life-supporting properties, functions, and processes of living organisms or their parts.
D002628 Chemoreceptor Cells Cells specialized to detect chemical substances and relay that information centrally in the nervous system. Chemoreceptor cells may monitor external stimuli, as in TASTE and OLFACTION, or internal stimuli, such as the concentrations of OXYGEN and CARBON DIOXIDE in the blood. D005399 Fishes A group of cold-blooded, aquatic vertebrates having gills, fins, a cartilaginous or bony endoskeleton, and elongated bodies covered with scales.
D000818 Animals Unicellular or multicellular, heterotrophic organisms, that have sensation and the power of voluntary movement. Under the older five kingdom paradigm, Animalia was one of the kingdoms. Under the modern three domain model, Animalia represents one of the many groups in the domain EUKARYOTA.
