[Use of long-chain alcohols in the treatment of postoperative anastomositis]. 1987

T P Korshunova, and V P Sukhorukov

Effects of complex therapy were examined in 76 patients with anastomositis following operations on the stomach. The intragastric administration of long chain alcohols was shown to improve the evacuation of food masses from the stomach. The volume of the congested gastric content was reduced from 1500 to 300 ml 6-7 days after the beginning of the treatment.
