[Diagnostic measures in various manifestations of bronchial carcinoma]. 1978

U Hüttemann

The mortality of bronchogenic carcinoma is still rising. In the etiology cigarette smoking is the main cause. High risk groups are persons between 45 and 65 years exposed permanently to inhalative noxae. These groups should be observed carefully for early cancer detection. With radiological, endoscopial, cytological methods the possibility for early diagnosis is given. Careful preoperative staging is necessary for differential therapy and prognosis of the cancer patient.
