Closure of a palatal fistula by a free tongue composite graft. 1987

Postpalatoplasty fistulas were closed by free tongue composite grafts. Based on this experience, sharply dissected, thin hinge flaps and the fixation of the grafts are considered the vital points. If carefully executed, this procedure is safe and produces good results in closing small fistulas of the hard palate. Operative procedures are described and 2 representative cases are discussed.
