[Incidence of familial longevity among the population of the Ukrainian SSR]. 1987

A M Zagariia, and G D Berdyshev

The genealogical method was used to study the family longevity in 220 individuals aged 80 and older in the Ukrainian SSR. The family longevity rate and total index are found to increase with the age of individuals examined. These indices in most cases are higher in men than in women and can be used as genetic markers to estimate the potential longevity.
