Prevalence of hepatitis B surface antigen in northern Nigerian blood donors. 1986

1,860 serum samples of blood donors from northern Nigeria were tested for the presence of the hepatitis B surface antigen. 8.9% of them were found to be positive. Significant differences in frequency were observed amongst various ethnic groups as well as ABO blood groups.
