[The vesico-ureteral junction in children: its topography, structure and significance]. 1986

N L Kernesiuk

The author has studied the vesicoureteral junction in 86 corpses of children and described its muscular and connective structures. The vesicoureteral junction is thought to include the visceral and intramural portions of the ureter, neck, fundus and part of the body (muscular-fascial centers) of the urinary bladder whose myofascicles and connective plates form this segment of the urinary tracts. Boari operations and ureterocystoneostomies were fulfilled in 72 puppies. Their functional results were shown to depend on the technique of the surgery.
