Acute blunt laryngeal and tracheal trauma. 1987

P S Camnitz, and S M Shepherd, and R A Henderson

Five cases of blunt trauma to the anterior neck were presented. It is most important to keep a high index of suspicion for the potential of total airway obstruction. Persons trained in establishing multiple types of emergency airways should be available until laryngotracheal damage has been ruled out, as the usual endotracheal tube or cricothyreotomy may be inadequate.
