[Computer-assisted morphometry of the corneal endothelium]. 1985

Until recently morphometry of the corneal endothelium depended on the time-consuming technique of manual digitization. Computer-assisted, interactive image analysis with the image processing system makes quick, exact and reproducible processing of endothelial micrograms possible. With the help of this method the homogeneity of the cell pattern and the regenerative activity can be evaluated and changes in the endothelium over time may be compared for statistical significance.
