[Ambiphyra ameiuri--a dangerous parasite of Ictalurus punctatus Rafinesque]. 1985

A description of the ectoparasitic ciliate of the channel catfish Ictalurus punctatus, Ambiphrya ameiuri, is given. Various medicinal preparations were tested in order to control A. ameiuri. Potassium permanganate in the dose of 10 g/m3 for 1 hour is most effective.
