Thermal denaturation of donor cornea: an unusual complication of penetrating keratoplasty. 1978

A most unusual complication of penetrating keratoplasty is the rapid thermal denaturation of a human donor cornea upon accidental exposure to temperature of 50 degrees to 60 degrees C, the result of inadequate cooling of a Teflon trephine block following autoclave sterilization.
