The N-terminal sequence of albumin Redhill, a variant of human serum albumin. 1985

D W Hutchinson, and P Matejtschuk

Albumin Redhill, a variant human albumin, has been isolated by fast protein liquid chromatofocusing. The N-terminal sequence of this protein corresponded to that of albumin A except that one additional arginine residue was attached to the N-terminus.

UI MeSH Term Description Entries
D007525 Isoelectric Focusing Electrophoresis in which a pH gradient is established in a gel medium and proteins migrate until they reach the site (or focus) at which the pH is equal to their isoelectric point. Electrofocusing,Focusing, Isoelectric
D002845 Chromatography Techniques used to separate mixtures of substances based on differences in the relative affinities of the substances for mobile and stationary phases. A mobile phase (fluid or gas) passes through a column containing a stationary phase of porous solid or liquid coated on a solid support. Usage is both analytical for small amounts and preparative for bulk amounts. Chromatographies
D006801 Humans Members of the species Homo sapiens. Homo sapiens,Man (Taxonomy),Human,Man, Modern,Modern Man
D000075462 Serum Albumin, Human Serum albumin from humans. It is an essential carrier of both endogenous substances, such as fatty acids and BILIRUBIN, and of XENOBITOICS in the blood. Albumin Human,Human Albumin,Human Serum Albumin,Albumin, Human,Albumin, Human Serum,Human, Albumin
D000595 Amino Acid Sequence The order of amino acids as they occur in a polypeptide chain. This is referred to as the primary structure of proteins. It is of fundamental importance in determining PROTEIN CONFORMATION. Protein Structure, Primary,Amino Acid Sequences,Sequence, Amino Acid,Sequences, Amino Acid,Primary Protein Structure,Primary Protein Structures,Protein Structures, Primary,Structure, Primary Protein,Structures, Primary Protein
D001120 Arginine An essential amino acid that is physiologically active in the L-form. Arginine Hydrochloride,Arginine, L-Isomer,DL-Arginine Acetate, Monohydrate,L-Arginine,Arginine, L Isomer,DL Arginine Acetate, Monohydrate,Hydrochloride, Arginine,L Arginine,L-Isomer Arginine,Monohydrate DL-Arginine Acetate
D012709 Serum Albumin A major protein in the BLOOD. It is important in maintaining the colloidal osmotic pressure and transporting large organic molecules. Plasma Albumin,Albumin, Serum
