Study of innervation in the oesophagus of monkeys. 1977

The intraganglionic nerve fibres endings in the oesophagus of monkey were studied. The different types of apparatus found were described, with their location in the oesophagus and their percentage distribution in relation to the different portion of its wall. The osmiumtetroixide-zinciodite and silver impregnation methods were used. A possible afferent function is proposed, which, however, must be considered an open question.
