[Diphenoloxydase (DPOx) in red cell membranes]. 1978

D Tuil, and P Katz, and J Demos

Two diphenoloxydases (DPOx) with similar molecular weights (158 000) are found in normal human red cell hemolysates. One of these enzymes appears to be tightly bound to the membranes while the other is not, or at most only weakly bound.

UI MeSH Term Description Entries
D008970 Molecular Weight The sum of the weight of all the atoms in a molecule. Molecular Weights,Weight, Molecular,Weights, Molecular
D011485 Protein Binding The process in which substances, either endogenous or exogenous, bind to proteins, peptides, enzymes, protein precursors, or allied compounds. Specific protein-binding measures are often used as assays in diagnostic assessments. Plasma Protein Binding Capacity,Binding, Protein
D004156 Catechol Oxidase An enzyme of the oxidoreductase class that catalyzes the reaction between catechol and oxygen to yield benzoquinone and water. It is a complex of copper-containing proteins that acts also on a variety of substituted catechols. EC 1.10.3.1.
