After a short introduction concerning the pathophysiology of thrombosis and the historical development of the anticoagulant therapy the indications and the clinical experiences of the antithrombotic therapy in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology are described. The treatment of the thrombosis of the femoral veins and the methods of the therapy control are described.
