[Resistance of ascitic fluid immunosuppressive factor DNA to pancreatic deoxyribonuclease]. 1979

A S Belokhvostov, and N K Zelenkova

It was found that incubation of Ehrlich tumour ascitic fluid with pancreatic DNAse does not result in a destruction of 5S DNA in the immunodepressive factor. After phenol deproteination of the ascitic fluid the resistance of this nucleic factor to DNAse is lost. It is possible that the native nucleic factor is represented by DNP and contains a protein component. During polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis the mobility of the nucleic factor labelled with [3H]-thymidine and isolated after chromatography on hydroxyapatite is found to be nearly the same as that for transferine.

UI MeSH Term Description Entries
D007166 Immunosuppressive Agents Agents that suppress immune function by one of several mechanisms of action. Classical cytotoxic immunosuppressants act by inhibiting DNA synthesis. Others may act through activation of T-CELLS or by inhibiting the activation of HELPER CELLS. While immunosuppression has been brought about in the past primarily to prevent rejection of transplanted organs, new applications involving mediation of the effects of INTERLEUKINS and other CYTOKINES are emerging. D008815 Mice, Inbred Strains Genetically identical individuals developed from brother and sister matings which have been carried out for twenty or more generations, or by parent x offspring matings carried out with certain restrictions. All animals within an inbred strain trace back to a common ancestor in the twentieth generation. D009698 Nucleoproteins Proteins conjugated with nucleic acids. Nucleoprotein
D010179 Pancreas A nodular organ in the ABDOMEN that contains a mixture of ENDOCRINE GLANDS and EXOCRINE GLANDS. The small endocrine portion consists of the ISLETS OF LANGERHANS secreting a number of hormones into the blood stream. The large exocrine portion (EXOCRINE PANCREAS) is a compound acinar gland that secretes several digestive enzymes into the pancreatic ductal system that empties into the DUODENUM.
D002286 Carcinoma, Ehrlich Tumor A transplantable, poorly differentiated malignant tumor which appeared originally as a spontaneous breast carcinoma in a mouse. It grows in both solid and ascitic forms. Ehrlich Ascites Tumor,Ascites Tumor, Ehrlich,Ehrlich Tumor Carcinoma,Tumor, Ehrlich Ascites
D003851 Deoxyribonucleases Enzymes which catalyze the hydrolases of ester bonds within DNA. EC 3.1.-. DNAase,DNase,Deoxyribonuclease,Desoxyribonuclease,Desoxyribonucleases,Nucleases, DNA,Acid DNase,Alkaline DNase,DNA Nucleases,DNase, Acid,DNase, Alkaline
D003852 Deoxyribonucleoproteins Proteins conjugated with deoxyribonucleic acids (DNA) or specific DNA.
D004273 DNA, Neoplasm DNA present in neoplastic tissue. Neoplasm DNA
D004591 Electrophoresis, Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis in which a polyacrylamide gel is used as the diffusion medium. Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis,SDS-PAGE,Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate-PAGE,Gel Electrophoresis, Polyacrylamide,SDS PAGE,Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate PAGE,Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate-PAGEs
D000818 Animals Unicellular or multicellular, heterotrophic organisms, that have sensation and the power of voluntary movement. Under the older five kingdom paradigm, Animalia was one of the kingdoms. Under the modern three domain model, Animalia represents one of the many groups in the domain EUKARYOTA.
