Delayed sexual maturation in female C57BL/6J mice prenatally exposed to alcohol. 1979

W O Boggan, and C L Randall, and H M Dodds

Prenatal exposure of mice to alcohol during days 5 to 11 of gestation resulted in delayed sexual maturation as measured by the time of vaginal opening. Data from some of these mice suggest that vaginal epithelial differentiation may also be altered.

The placental barrier excludes microbial or viral transmission. Transplacental Exposure,Exchange, Maternal-Fetal,Exposure, Transplacental,Maternal Fetal Exchange
D008810 Mice, Inbred C57BL One of the first INBRED MOUSE STRAINS to be sequenced. This strain is commonly used as genetic background for transgenic mouse models. Refractory to many tumors, this strain is also preferred model for studying role of genetic variations in development of diseases.
