[Pharmacologic-endocrinological findings in animal experiments with TURISYNCHRON and SUISYNCHRON. 1. Effect on gonadotropic function of the rat hypophysis]. 1974

W Stölzner, and M Grass, and K H Chemnitius

The antigonadotrophic activity of the metallibure preparation TURISYNCHRON and its zinc complex SUISYNCHRON was investigated in rats by measuring inhibition of testicular growth, inhibition of ovulation and effect on the oestrous cycle. The zinc complex was less active in the ovulation inhibition test, in contrast to the testicular inhibition test, and this was attributed to its peculiar mode of absorption.

D011247 Pregnancy The status during which female mammals carry their developing young (EMBRYOS or FETUSES) in utero before birth, beginning from FERTILIZATION to BIRTH. Gestation,Pregnancies
D004971 Estrus The period in the ESTROUS CYCLE associated with maximum sexual receptivity and fertility in non-primate female mammals.
D005260 Female Females
D006065 Gonadotropins, Pituitary Hormones secreted by the adenohypophysis (PITUITARY GLAND, ANTERIOR) that stimulate gonadal functions in both males and females. They include FOLLICLE STIMULATING HORMONE that stimulates germ cell maturation (OOGENESIS; SPERMATOGENESIS), and LUTEINIZING HORMONE that stimulates the production of sex steroids (ESTROGENS; PROGESTERONE; ANDROGENS). Pituitary Gonadotropins
D000818 Animals Unicellular or multicellular, heterotrophic organisms, that have sensation and the power of voluntary movement. Under the older five kingdom paradigm, Animalia was one of the kingdoms. Under the modern three domain model, Animalia represents one of the many groups in the domain EUKARYOTA.
