Erysipelas serum titration with sheep red blood cells passively sensitized with a cellular extract. 1973

G M Poole, and F T Counter

We have demonstrated that sheep red blood cells can be passively sensitized with an extract from Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae. Diagnostic differential hemagglutination titrations may then be made with porcine serum for Erysipelas antibody.

D003937 Diagnosis, Differential Determination of which one of two or more diseases or conditions a patient is suffering from by systematically comparing and contrasting results of diagnostic measures. Diagnoses, Differential,Differential Diagnoses,Differential Diagnosis
D004888 Erysipelothrix A genus of gram-positive, facultatively anaerobic, rod-shaped bacteria that has a tendency to form long filaments. Its organisms are widely distributed in nature and are found in MAMMALS; BIRDS; and FISHES. Erysipelothrix may appear gram-negative because they decolorize easily. Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae

D000818 Animals Unicellular or multicellular, heterotrophic organisms, that have sensation and the power of voluntary movement. Under the older five kingdom paradigm, Animalia was one of the kingdoms. Under the modern three domain model, Animalia represents one of the many groups in the domain EUKARYOTA.
