Ankle injuries caused by seat belts. 1979

Two cases of tri-malleolar frautures of the ankle caused by feet becoming entangled in loose seat belts are reported. Open reduction and internal fixation of all three malleolar fragments was carried out in each case with a satisfactory end result.
