[Is adamantiades-Behçet disease contagious? (author's transl)]. 1979

Literature concerning Adamantiadès-Behçet disease is silent with regard to its contagiousness. 21 patients manifesting the complete triad of the cardinal signs were followed up; 17 for long lapses of time, one of them for 39 years. Although living in promsicuity and totally indifferent as to measures for the prevention of transmission, no trace of contagion could be found in their immediate surrounding despite all our efforts to detect it. The partners of 18 married couples were all in excellent health throughout.
