In the General Hospital Osijek, from 1974 to 1977, out of 15,716 legal abortions and 2323 abortions completed in the hospital, there were 16 perforations (0.08%) of most serious kind, two of them including injured intestines. The most serious complications followed abortions made in pregnancies exceeding 10 weeks.
