[Antigen-dependent induction of a non-specific humoral factor blocking rosette-forming cells in experiments in vitro and in vivo]. 1977

Isologous serum of CBA mice immunized with rabbit immunoglobulins (ARIS) contained a factor capable of inactivating rosette-forming splenocytes (RFC) in vitro from the same strain of mice immunized with SRBC. When mouse SRBC immunization was carried out against the background of ARIS injection the court of RFC to SRBC at the peak of immune response was 30% of that of mice injected with SRBC and normal isologous serum. A decrease of RFC count was the result of disappearance of the theta-negative RFC. Passive ARIS immunization failed to influence the antigen-induced proliferation of the antibody-forming cells and the synthesis of antibodies against SRBC.

UI MeSH Term Description Entries
D007104 Immune Adherence Reaction A method for the detection of very small quantities of antibody in which the antigen-antibody-complement complex adheres to indicator cells, usually primate erythrocytes or nonprimate blood platelets. The reaction is dependent on the number of bound C3 molecules on the C3b receptor sites of the indicator cell. D007106 Immune Sera Serum that contains antibodies. It is obtained from an animal that has been immunized either by ANTIGEN injection or infection with microorganisms containing the antigen. Antisera,Immune Serums,Sera, Immune,Serums, Immune
D007165 Immunosuppression Therapy Deliberate prevention or diminution of the host's immune response. It may be nonspecific as in the administration of immunosuppressive agents (drugs or radiation) or by lymphocyte depletion or may be specific as in desensitization or the simultaneous administration of antigen and immunosuppressive drugs. D011817 Rabbits A burrowing plant-eating mammal with hind limbs that are longer than its fore limbs. It belongs to the family Leporidae of the order Lagomorpha, and in contrast to hares, possesses 22 instead of 24 pairs of chromosomes. D000818 Animals Unicellular or multicellular, heterotrophic organisms, that have sensation and the power of voluntary movement. Under the older five kingdom paradigm, Animalia was one of the kingdoms. Under the modern three domain model, Animalia represents one of the many groups in the domain EUKARYOTA. D000921 Antibody-Producing Cells Cells of the lymphoid series that can react with antigen to produce specific cell products called antibodies. Various cell subpopulations, often B-lymphocytes, can be defined, based on the different classes of immunoglobulins that they synthesize.
