[Basic physiological requirements for therapy of coronary insufficiency (author's transl)]. 1977

The determining factors of coronary blood supply are described. The dependence of the coronary vascular resistance and the coronary extra-vascular resistance on the oxygen requirement and metabolism products of the heart muscles on one hand, and the various haemodynamic parameters on the other, are delineated. Based on this conception the principles for a therapy of coronary insufficiency are deduced. The difficulties, however, which limit this therapeutic procedure are also mentioned.
