[Local anesthetic action of metipranolol as compared to timolol]. 1983

J Draeger, and B Schneider, and R Winter

In a randomized study the local anesthetic side effects of the beta blockers Metipranolol and Timolol were compared. With the new electronic optical esthesiometer accurate, reproducible sensibility measurements are now possible. It can be shown that both beta blockers have a brief local anesthetic effect when applied to the cornea in drop form. There is also a relation between dose and effect.
