What health sciences programs want from biomedical communications. 1980

I R Merrill

A survey of all active U.S. members (1979) of the Association of Biomedical Communications Directors asked each of them to rank the importance of eight types of service to each professional program that his unit supports. Service priorities are reported for the programs characteristic of medicine, allied health, dentistry, nursing, and pharmacy. The services' orders of importance are program-related, which suggests that there is no single model of a biomedical communications unit and that each unit should be shaped by the particular program or programs that it supports.
