[Increased myocardial adenine nucleotides induced by adenosine]. 1977

W Isselhard, and H Reineke, and J Eitenmüller, and H G Herb

The tissue of adenine nucleotides in the myocardium of rabbits, rats and dogs can be raised up to 40% by the infusion of adenosin. This increase is a function of the applied dose, the duration and the mode of application of adenosin; it does not result from the adenosin-induced reduction in cardiac work.

UI MeSH Term Description Entries
D007773 Lactates Salts or esters of LACTIC ACID containing the general formula CH3CHOHCOOR.
D009206 Myocardium The muscle tissue of the HEART. It is composed of striated, involuntary muscle cells (MYOCYTES, CARDIAC) connected to form the contractile pump to generate blood flow. D011817 Rabbits A burrowing plant-eating mammal with hind limbs that are longer than its fore limbs. It belongs to the family Leporidae of the order Lagomorpha, and in contrast to hares, possesses 22 instead of 24 pairs of chromosomes. D000241 Adenosine A nucleoside that is composed of ADENINE and D-RIBOSE. Adenosine or adenosine derivatives play many important biological roles in addition to being components of DNA and RNA. Adenosine itself is a neurotransmitter. Adenocard,Adenoscan
D000693 Anaerobiosis The complete absence, or (loosely) the paucity, of gaseous or dissolved elemental oxygen in a given place or environment. D000818 Animals Unicellular or multicellular, heterotrophic organisms, that have sensation and the power of voluntary movement. Under the older five kingdom paradigm, Animalia was one of the kingdoms. Under the modern three domain model, Animalia represents one of the many groups in the domain EUKARYOTA.
