In this article the anatomy of the soft tissues around the elbow joint is described in relation to the causation of post-traumatic elbow stiffness. Examples of the ways in which significant damage to these tissues may occur after injury are discussed. It is suggested how arthrography may help in the diagnosis of the condition.
