[Polyglycolic acid suture in strabismus surgery (author's transl)]. 1980

N Demmler

We report on 60 patients who underwent altogether 100 operations on their eye muscles, either recession or resection of a lateral rectus muscle, or both operations together. All muscles were sutured with 5-0 Dexon, and the conjunctivae with 7-0 Dexon. The postoperative reaction was studied. This suture material produces a good tissue reaction. Tying and knotholding qualities are also good.
