Location of amino acid residues in human deoxy hemoglobin. 1978

J S Sack, and L C Andrews, and K A Magnus, and J C Hanson, and J Rubin, and W E Love

A table has been compiled of the spatial disposition of the amino acid residues in the human deoxy hemoglobin tetramer. The table also indicates regions of possible contact between residues in each subunit and possible contacts between subunits.

UI MeSH Term Description Entries
D008961 Models, Structural A representation, generally small in scale, to show the structure, construction, or appearance of something. (From Random House Unabridged Dictionary, 2d ed) Model, Structural,Structural Model,Structural Models
D006454 Hemoglobins The oxygen-carrying proteins of ERYTHROCYTES. They are found in all vertebrates and some invertebrates. The number of globin subunits in the hemoglobin quaternary structure differs between species. Structures range from monomeric to a variety of multimeric arrangements. D006801 Humans Members of the species Homo sapiens. Homo sapiens,Man (Taxonomy),Human,Man, Modern,Modern Man
D000596 Amino Acids Organic compounds that generally contain an amino (-NH2) and a carboxyl (-COOH) group. Twenty alpha-amino acids are the subunits which are polymerized to form proteins. Amino Acid,Acid, Amino,Acids, Amino
