[Surgery of senile cataract; technical suggestions (author's transl)]. 1980

R Jebejian

This study is intended in particular for the isolated specialist complied to practice cataract surgery with limited means. The author proposes his solutions to a series of problems encountered in the course of his long career. The plea for local anesthesia is followed by a paragraph on "potentialized akinesia", a method conceived by the author, resulting in a perfect orbicular relaxation. The following paragraphs deal in turn with matters of lighting, means of magnification, pre-operative hypotony, incidents of shock, phimosis of the conjunctival sac and the different steps of the operation proper with the manyfold problems they arouse and the practical solution for each.
