The effects of an aerobic exercise program on psychological variables in older adults. 1984

In a study assessing the psychological effects of exercise in the elderly, a fourteen week aerobic program produced a significant increase in self-concept and a significantly greater perceived internal locus of control. Improvement in memory was not found.
