The technique consists in that the air is passed through an impinger containing 10 cm3 of absorbing liquid (hydroxylamine alkaline solution), then a colorimetric reaction is induced by adding the ferric chloride solution in hydrochloric acid and absorption is measured at 510 mm wavelength.
