[Burns of the respiratory tract]. 1978

The authors observed 167 cases with thermal burns of the respiratory tract and body integument. According to the authors' data the mortality among these cases reaches 72.4%. The treatment of such patients should be a complex one. The authors prefer the microtracheostomy and consider this operation to be a compulsory one for the most of the burned with the second degree burns of the respiratory tract.
