Absence of lesions in the hypothalamus of frogs treated with gold thioglucose. 1980

D F Brown, and E S Farrar

Gold thioglucose (800-1000 mg/kg ip) failed to cause lesions in the hypothalamus of Rana pipiens within 48 h of injection. Since this dose is a pharmacological one in mammals it is likely that the frog hypothalamus differs significantly in its sensitivity.
