Salmonella typhi meningitis. A case report. 1983

Y M Coovadia, and S Ori, and A Bhamjee

A case of purulent Salmonella typhi meningitis in a 5-month-old child is discussed. The patient was treated successfully with amoxycillin, and there were no neurological sequelae. S. typhi should be included in the differential diagnosis of Gram-negative bacillary meningitis, especially in children from areas in which typhoid is endemic.
